Plan an AC maintenance visit

Quick checks before you call

  • Check the thermostat: is it set to heat or cool, and is the set point where you expect?
  • Check the filter: a clogged filter limits airflow. Replace it if it is visibly dirty.
  • Check the power: look at the breaker and the equipment switch near the unit.
  • Check the airflow: hold a hand at a supply register and feel whether air is moving.
  • Check the outdoor unit: clear leaves and debris from around it.

Signs to call us about

Signs your air conditioner needs attention

  • Warm air from the vents while the system is running
  • Weak airflow from the registers
  • Short cycles: the system starts and stops every few minutes
  • Ice on the refrigerant lines or the indoor unit
  • Unusual noises: grinding, squealing or clicking
  • The outdoor unit will not start, or trips the breaker

What air conditioning service covers

AC repair

Strange noises, warm air from the vents or a system that will not turn on all point to problems that need a professional diagnosis. Our technicians arrive with common replacement parts and test the system to find the cause. We work on all major brands and system types, including central air, ductless mini-splits and packaged units.

AC maintenance

A maintenance visit once a year keeps the system running and catches small problems before they become failures. The visit includes an inspection, coil cleaning, a refrigerant check, electrical connection testing and thermostat calibration. A maintenance visit is a single bookable appointment, not a contract.

AC installation

An air conditioner that is old, needs repairs often or cannot keep the home comfortable may be ready for replacement. We help you choose a system that fits the home’s size, layout and ductwork, then install it to the manufacturer’s specifications. The Furnace and AC savings calculator compares the efficiency ratings of two air conditioners.

We aim to arrive within 2 hours from the time you call, depending on the distance to your location and current availability. Emergency service is available 24/7, including Sundays. Non-emergency visits outside routine service hours are scheduled for the next working period.

Repair or replacement

Whether to repair or replace depends on the age of the system, what failed and how often it has failed before. A single failed part on an otherwise sound system is usually a repair. An older system that needs one large repair after another is usually a candidate for replacement. We explain both options and what each involves, and you decide.

What the cost depends on

The cost of a repair or installation depends on the system type and age, the actual fault, parts availability, access to the equipment, the complexity of the work and scheduling. Our guide on what HVAC repair costs and what drives the price explains the factors in detail.

The written quote

We explain what we found and what it costs, in writing, with parts and labor listed separately. You review it; you decide. Work only begins once you approve.

Common questions about air conditioning service

Why is my AC running but not cooling my home?
Common causes are a clogged air filter, low refrigerant, a frozen evaporator coil or a compressor problem. Check the filter first — if it is dirty, replace it and see if the cooling improves. If it does not, the system needs a diagnosis.
Can a dirty air filter damage my air conditioner?
Yes. A badly clogged filter restricts airflow, which makes the system work harder and can freeze the evaporator coil. Check the filter monthly and replace it when it looks dirty.
What happens after I request service?
We will call you back to confirm the details. A form request is not a confirmed appointment. We assess the system, explain what we found and provide a written quote for approval before work begins.
